Excursion to Primedia broadcasting office

Today was such an amazing day to be part of the excursion of visiting the Primedia broadcasting Western Cape offices. We got to learn so many valuable skills in the multimedia space, from journalism, radio broadcasting and digital media.

We got to learn more of how radio production works, how radio host and presenters interact with their audience through radio conversations with their audience and we learnt something interesting about radio which is having to host a radio show in Cape Town then have it air in Johannesburg or have listeners in Johannesburg.
As a final year Journalism student whom is aspiring to enter the work field of journalism this outing has broaden my knowledge of how huge and creative the field of media, all you need to do is be unique, creative, curious and last but not least be irreplaceable in whatever you specialise in the media space.

Our understanding was improved by the tour, conversations, and contact with the specialists. Today's tour was an exceptional instance of how hands-on learning, which bridges the gap between theory and practise, is an essential component of education.

From content production to transmission, we witnessed how a media organisation conducts its everyday business. We also had the chance to interact with experts in the industry.
